My name is Ellen. I am a mother to five beautiful children, three of them biological. My journey so far on this Earth has been a very challenging but a very rewarding journey.In May 2009 I found out I was pregnant; this was an unplanned and unexpected pregnancy. I felt an array of emotions.
My two previous pregnancies, births and first twelve months were the most challenging periods of my life. Areas of my life and influences were displaced and unstable. My first birth took around thirty hours and ended with an emergency caesarean. I had much difficulty establishing a breastfeeding routine and suffered chronic post natal depression for around twelve months after this birth. My second birth was an elective caesarean; I became ill after the birth, again suffered post natal depression and had much difficulty breastfeeding.
They are now two healthy and beautiful children, who I am eternally grateful for.
When I found out I was pregnant the third time with our now gorgeous son, I was completely overwhelmed primarily due to the deep discarded emotions from my past. A past I had not accepted but pushed down, as deep and as far away as I possibly could, it all came flooding back in one moment. I knew however, this would be the last time I would ever receive such an amazing gift, the gift of experiencing pregnancy, of nurturing and loving a beautiful life unconditionally and bringing it into this world.
